Musical Performance Supported by MCC Grant

May 7, 2026 – Malden Public Schools is proud to have received a grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council to support the performance of the Boston Saxophone Quartet at one of our K-8 schools.

On Monday, May 4, the Boston Saxophone Quartet performed for grade 4 students at the Ferryway School. The performance centered around the theme of “Linking Generations Through Music” and featured 14 different songs. During the performance, students saw the performers play a variety of instruments including multiple types of saxophones.

“We are thankful for the funding provided by the Massachusetts Cultural Council that allowed us to bring these performers into our school,” said Gerard Tannetta, Director of Social Studies and Visual and Performing Arts. “The students truly enjoyed the performance, especially the songs they recognized!”
